Vauxhall’s new OnStar system has picked up another award as its release date comes ever closer. This time it is the highly competitive Techies Innovation award from BusinessCar, coming out on top against rivals.
“It’s the level and variety of offering wrapped up with OnStar, as well as its accessibility, that won over the BusinessCar Techie Awards judging panel,” said BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker. “There are duty of care, convenience and organisational benefits wrapped up in a proven package and it’s a development that genuinely moves the industry forward.”
Upon receiving the award, Vauxhall Fleet Sales Director, James Taylor, said: “We’re thrilled to be recognised for OnStar by BusinessCar. The business car sector s incredibly important to us and this award shows how relevant OnStar will be in helping fleet drivers and managers ensure time-efficient and safe journeys on business.”
OnStar will be available as standard on the new Vauxhall Astra which launches later this year, as well as being an optional extra on other Vauxhall models. OnStar can connect drivers to a 24/7 call centre where they can ask for directions, vehicle diagnostics and contact emergency services. OnStar also features a Wi-Fi hotspot via 4G which can connect to up to seven devices.
