Ford have confirmed that they will be putting a £2.9 billion investment into electric vehicle, with a Focus Electric due in late 2016. The Focus will house a 143bhp engine, a 0-62mph time of 11.7 seconds and a top speed of 85mph. will feature an all-new DC fast-charging function, which will give the car 100 miles worth of charge in just 30 minutes, this being 2 hours quicker than the current US system.
The investment will also change how Ford conduct their market research. They will now focus more on user experiences and customer interactions rather than the pure product. Ford will also be expanding battery research in Europe and China, demonstrating the brand’s future aims and abilities.
