The 2017 LA Motor Show has seen the debut of the US version of the all-new Ford EcoSport. The small high riding car is set to be introduced to the US market in the coming months, but the main shape and features are set to remain for the updated European model we are expecting next year.
The new EcoSport clearly takes inspiration from the current Kuga and Edge SUV’s with the signature grille taking prime spot at the front of the vehicle, a feature which was made clear by Ford’s manager of SUV communications Jeremy Schofield explained in an interview with AutoCar earlier in the year. The main difference between the US and European models will be the headlights, which will be slightly smaller this side of the water. Inside the car, you get Ford’s new Sync3 infotainment system, usable through an 8″ touchscreen. Sync3 features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which gives the driver advanced control of in phone apps along with additional technologies allowing you to remotely start, lock and unlock the car from any location.
Under the bonnet, the US version has been launched with two turbocharged petrol EcoBoost untis; a 1.0 three -cylinder and a 2.0 four-cylinder run with a six-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0 litre powertrain will run as four-wheel drive. This 2.0 unit is almost certainly going to be swapped for a 1.5 petrol unit in the UK model and the current 1.5 diesel engine will remain.
The new EcoSport is due to be released next year, but the current model is available with 0% APR, take a look at our unbeatable offers here; http://www.motorparks.co.uk/dealerships/ford-wimbledon
