1966 saw Ford achieve an incredible 1,2,3 finish in the legendary GT40. To celebrate Ford are releasing 50 limited edition examples of the Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Mustang and Focus RS. The new models will be available in Black Mica alone, with grey racing stripes to mimic the iconic livery worn by the race winning super cars, in addition to a special plague in the centre console.
The Focus ST will benefit from the city pack as standard, which includes the active city stop system and rear parking sensors. A style pack will also be fitted with 18inch alloy wheels and red rear brake callipers. The Fiesta ST which will start at £20,500 gets 17inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and the red rear brake callipers. The Mustang and Focus RS also have appearance upgrades. Anyone who is lucky enough to buy a Le Mans edition Ford before the 2016 24 hour race will be entered into a competition to win tickets to the iconic race, but unfortunately it looks like all the cars will only be available in France.
The Ford GT40 was built to beat Ferrari on the race track, and this was achieved in 1966 when Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon took the top step of the podium, followed by Ken Miles and Denis Hulme in 2nd and Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson in 3rd. The 7.0 V8 super car went on to win the next Le Mans 24 hour race, with a 4.9L V8 winning the next 2 meetings.
The current Fiesta ST starts from only £229* a month, with the Focus ST from only £288*, take a look at all our excellent new and used offers here; Dees of Wimbledon
