After arriving in showrooms early this year the new Corsa has become an immediate success. A new look exterior and a vastly updated interior coupled with new engines and drivetrains have given new life to one of the UK’s most popular models.
To complete the model line-up Vauxhall are bringing the Corsa VXR back with new features, increased performance and a more competitive price.
Starting at £17,995 OTR the new Corsa VXR will be priced competitively alongside key rivals from Ford, Renault and Volkswagen in the small hot hatch segment.
Powered by a powerful 1.6-litre turbocharged engine the new Corsa VXR will be capable of producing 205PS and up to 280Nm, reaching 0-60mph in just 6.5 seconds. Faster gear changing helps the car to reach its top speed of 143mph with the new precise short throw shifter.
The chassis has received an overhaul too. Koni FSD technology is standard alongside the lowered sports suspension and two-stage switchable ESP with traction control. ABS with straight line stability and cornering brake control is also standard. Everything is focused on speed, stability and safety – as a VXR should be.
Petrol heads will be keen to upgrade to the optional Performance Pack, which offers upgraded suspension, Brembo four-piston front brakes, upgraded 18-inch bi-colour alloy wheels and a retuned FSD. The Drexler Limited Slip Differential is one of the biggest changes with early reviews indicating that it’s worth the price of upgrading alone.
We are excited to get our hands on the new Corsa VXR when it arrives in our showrooms in May. The Corsa VXR is available to order from both our Vauxhall dealerships, Doves Vauxhall in Southampton and County Motorworks in Chelmsford.
