Ford reveals the prices and specs of its new Galaxy model which includes a surprise all-wheel drive option.
Starting at £26,445 the popular MPV is available to order now with delivery times expected this summer. Priced £800 above the outgoing model, the new Galaxy comes with new styling, new suspension, new technology and the new 158bhp 1.5-litre EcoBoost turbo engine in the entry Zetec model.
Zetec spec comes standard with parking sensors, sports seats, electric folding mirrors, dual climate control and keyless go. DAB Radio and sat nav are available on the Titanium spec alongside cruise control, automatic wipers, privacy glass and a chrome exterior trim. The Titanium model will start at £28,595.
Range topping Titanium X spec adds even more features. Starting at £33,096 for the 148bhp diesel engine, the Titanium X adds leather seats, an electronically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, park assist and a panoramic glass sunroof.
Much like the new Ford S-MAX, an all-wheel drive option is offered. Named the ‘Intelligent All Wheel Drive’ system, the Galaxy can modify torque output to the front or rear axle in response via sensors on the wheels every 16 milliseconds. Intelligent All Wheel Drive is available with the 148bhp and 178bhp 2.0TDCI engines.
For those looking for more power, the new Ford Galaxy gives the option of a 237bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. However this is only available with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
