Vauxhall have released the very first pictures of the new Insignia Sports Tourer ahead of the cars full launch at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
This latest addition to the Vauxhall portfolio brings improvements over the its predecessor in all areas as well as revised proportions and increased scope for safety. The new Insignia Sports Tourer is based on completely new architecture, enabling engineers to focus on increasing practicality and efficiency with the new model.
Shedding weight has become a rite of passage for new Vauxhall vehicles and the new Insignia Sports Tourer continues the trend. Depending on engine and specification it is possible for the new model to be up to 200 kilograms lighter than the outgoing model. This new diet means engineers and designers can implement new features such as a modern all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring and the all new eight-speed automatic transmission.
“Vauxhall’s best-ever product portfolio will get even better with the launch of the new Insignia Sports Tourer,” said Rory Harvey, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director. ““It has all of the elegance of its Insignia Grand Sport sibling but with even more practicality, including a boot that is more spacious than its predecessor. The Insignia Sports Tourer will set new standards for design, efficiency, technology and connectivity when it debuts next month at the Geneva Motor Show.”
The new Insignia Sports Tourer is shaping up to be a great addition to the Vauxhall range and we can’t wait to learn more at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
