In true SEAT style, offering the all new improved Leon Cupra 290 and the edgy Leon X-Perience wasn’t enough, and so an almost combination of the two was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show – The Leon Cross Sport.
Powered with 296 bhp and 380Nm of torque through a Haldex four wheel drive system and 6 speed DSG automatic gearbox the Leon Cross Sport certainly fades the line between hot hatch and terrain capability. This all new SEAT crossover is capable of 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds which is the same as the VW Golf equivalent and slightly speedier than the Standard Curpa 265. The cross sport over powers the golf with an extra 41mm of ground clearance to compete with any hot hatch rival.
Other SEAT crossover feautures include bold two tone paint, brown extended wheelarches, two tone 19inch alloy wheels, butch silver rear bumper, quad exhausts and transformed roof rails. Other exterior features match that of the Cupra.
No finalised decisions have been made on engine choice however there is chance the crossover could feature the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine as the Leon Cupra, but with smaller engines available.
