Many try and fail attempting to climb the UK’s hightest mountain, so when Henry Alexander Jr decided to drive it, many must have thought he was crazy. Over 100 years later, film thought to have been lost, have been recovered to prove the feet of the iconic Ford car.
The aim of the expedition was to show the public that American cars were superior to those made in the UK. A few modifications had to made to the mountain using dynamite and the car had to be carried up and down in places in parts, but the journey remains an impressive triumph.
The Ford Model T was built 1908 and 1927 and is considered to be the world’s first affordable car, becoming a motoring icon and starting point for the one of the globe’s most successful car brands.
