Stock Ford F-150 Raptor Competes in the Baja 1000

The Score Baja 1000 is one of the toughest races on earth. Held in the California Peninsula in Mexico the desert race is a grueling 855 mile race in which each competitor has 36 hours to complete the course.

Such a tough race requires some incredible machinery, high powered custom built baja buggies and trucks costing hundreds of thousands dollars are custom fabricated to from high strength light weight materials to deal with the rigorous course.

Foutz Motorsports decided to see just how tough the Ford F-150 Raptor is entering a near stock Ford Truck with just the bare minimum of safety features. An enlarged puncture proof fuel cell, fire extinguisher system, safety cage, safety harness, LED lighting and up-rated suspension to cope with the extra weight.

The trucks body, the 3.5l V6 EcoBoost Engine and the drivetrain are all completely stock, exactly as is when they left the factory.

The Ford Truck survived and finished the race just, given 36 hours to complete the course the Ford Raptor managed to complete the course in 35 hours 59 minutes and 8.2 seconds!. So less than a minute to spare!

Unbelievably after the race, the Ford F-150 Raptor refueled  and then drove 399 back to Foutz HQ. Built Tough Indeed.
