Tiff Needell confirms long running motoring show Fifth Gear is coming to an end

As the world look forward to the new series of the ‘all-new’ Top Gear and the launch of Clarkson, Hammond and May’s new Amazon series, the sad news has come that Fifth Gear has probably come to an end. Tiff Needell all but confirmed the news through his Twitter account, bringing to an end a 15 year spell on TV. Tiff tweeted the following;

The show originally aired on Channel 5 from 2001, and has since moved over to ITV4, but due to popularity of Top Gear, the show has never really hit the audience figures to compete with its BBC rival. If you were a fan or not, it’s a shame to say goodbye to another motoring show, but at least we have Top Gear back soon and The Grand Tour starting in the coming months.
