Nearly 2000 Ford Mustang orders have been placed in Britain since January. The first right hand drive Ford Mustangs nearing completion at the Flatrock manufacturing facility in North America.
The first Ford Mustang hit the road 50 years ago, in that time the car has become a cultural icon. In all that time though the car has never been available in the UK as a right hand drive car until now. The first right hand drive cares for UK customers are hoped to hit these shores in November. Demand for the Ford Mustang though has been such that measures have been put in place to provide extra supply to meet demand.
British buyers have all been following a similar trend in regards to the specifications of their Ford Mustangs, so far over 80% UK customers have chosen the fastback style over the convertible. 70% of have opted for the 416PS 5.0 litre V8 engine over the more fuel efficient 317PS 2.3 litre Ecoboost engine. The manual transmission with 55% of the orders is only a slightly more popular choice over the automatic option.
More than half of the UK mustangs so far will feature the Custom Pack. The custom pack features sat nav, a 12 speaker shaker pro audio system, a rear camera to assist parking, heated and cooled front seats, Nickel Luster silver alloy wheels as well as extra chrome trim on fastback models.
As far as exterior paint finish goes Race Red has been the most popular choice so far making up 23% of the orders. Shadow Black and Magnetic Silver come in joint second place taking just over 16% of the orders each. Deep Impact Blue takes 10.7% of the order and Triple yellow makes up the top 5 with 8.6% of the order.
