Greatest Honda Civic’s in Film and Music
01 – 1993 Honda Civic EJ1: The Fast and the Furious
Trio of tuned-up Civics with green neon under-lights pull up alongside a lorry with one of the cars managing to drive under the lorry, helping the gang pull off the heist in the first Fast and Furious film, it signals the beginning of one of the most memorable set pieces in the franchise’s history. This part of the first film is a well remembered scene and shows how much an impact the Civic’s made in the film.
02 – 1980 Honda Civic SL: Tarantino – Pulp Fiction
Tarantino was quite keen on a particular 1981 Honda Civic that played a role as Bruce Willis’s car in Pulp Fiction in which is ran over the mob boss Marcellus Wallace. It also made a car park cameo in Kill Bill Volume 2. It made it into 4 Tarantino films.
03 – 1978 Honda Civic: Police Academy
We don’t think Honda had in mind a 6 foot 7 inch Bubba Smith when they designed the compact 1978 Honda Civic.
04 – 1981 Honda Civic Station Wagon: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
then iconic scene where Jones steals a golden idol and things could not get any better for him when darts fly, walls collapse and huge boulders roll towards him, well the sound of the boulder was of a Civic’s tyres when it rolled over some large rocks on a hill in California. The sound designer Ben Burtt thought to him self “My God, that could be the boulder!”
