Ford have (at last) revealed their 2017 Fiesta, replacing the all conquering current model. At a special event in Cologne, Germany, the new Fiesta was unveiled in 4 different variants; a Titanium, a sporty ST-Line, a special Vignale model which will be available from Dees and Invicta Ford and an all new ‘Active’ crossover model. The variety in models is offer new buyers more personalisation as well as advancing the cars driving style. .
The images show that the new design has evolved rather than completely changed with the iconic front grille remaining just with slightly sunken and softened front headlights. The back of the car shows bigger changes with new horizontal tail-lights and is rumoured, the overall size of the car has increased to allow extra cabin space. Inside the car, Ford had guaranteed a more premium finish compared to the current model and with the new touch screen system replacing the button operating current system, we believed the blue oval have achieved their target. The touch screen system will include the Sync3 infotainment package and a B&O PlaySound stereo. The new range will be topped with the ST-Line which demonstrates how the new full ST will look, with 10-spoke alloy wheels and sporty bumpers and side skirts.
We still have no confirmed details on which engines will be available, but are expecting a boosted 1.6 petrol unit for the new ST with extra power but lower emissions. and it seems inevitable that the usual mix of 3 and 4 cylinder EcoBoost powertrains will be fitted.
