Vauxhall Astra

Vauxhall’s latest Astra has received its second award in as many days, this time winning the title of the UK’s Best Small Hatchback. Having conquered Europe earlier this week by winning European Car of the Year at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the Astra has set its sights on domestic domination.

Praised for its design, performance and equipment, the Astra came out on top in the Small Hatch category. There were 27 judges made up of influential motoring journalists representing different markets across the UK.

John Challen, founder of the UK Car of the Year awards said “Vauxhall has shaken up the C-segment with the Astra. Big improvements in refinement, quality and driving dynamics are to be applauded”

Vauxhall Chairman and Managing Director Rory Harvey said that he was “delighted” with how well received the new Astra has been, having already won European Car of the Year, What Car? Family Car of the Year, Scottish Car of the Year.

“We’re delighted the Astra has been recognised by the UK Car of the Year judges, as they reflect all areas of the UK motor industry; this year is the new model’s first full year of sales, and it has already been well-received.” Commented Rory Harvey, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director.

The new Astra has been one of Motorpark’s best sellers, and is available from our Chelmsford and Southampton Vauxhall dealerships.
