Honda S2000 is coming back as Mazda MX-5 rival
Introduced in 1999 the origninal version of the Honda S2000 got a reputation for its strong pwertrain and lively handling, but the second gen car was axed in 2009.
It will be a rear-drive roadster and powered by turbocharged 1.5 or 2.0 litre engines (like the MX-5’s) and there could well be a Type-R version possible.
Now its coming back and ready to take on all it’s competitors especially the Mazda MX-5 and the Fiat 124 Spider.
The new Honda S2000 must beat:
- Fiat/Abarth 124 spider
- BMW z4
- Nissan Z-Car
- Alpine A120
The new design uses sharper lines to coincide with the open top design, more aggressive angles and painted wheels.
The price hasn’t been announced but the rumour is that the starting price for a 1.5 litre is about £16,000 and the 2.0 litre from £18,000
Should be out 2017
