What to Expect From the London Motor Show

For the first time in almost 8 years the UK will be home to its very own Motor Show. Over 35 different manufacturers and dealer groups are scheduled to line up at the London Motor Show, showcasing the latest innovations from the motor industry.

The Battersea Evolution Centre will play host to the 3 day event and will welcome over 130 different models, from McLaren supercars to the nation’s bestselling vehicle, the Ford Fiesta.

Welsh eco-car company Riversimple will be sharing their vision of the future, the RASA. The RASA is a two seater vehicle powered by hydrogen with enormous benefits for the environment. For the thrill seekers among you a replica of the 1,000mph Bloodhound SSC will be on display. The Bloodhound SSC will soon be attempting to break the land speed record (Not around Battersea Park!).

Cars are not the only attraction of the weekend though. Across the weekend guests can enjoy daily talks from former racing drivers Sir Stirling Moss, Tiff Needell and Nigel Mansell as well as enjoy the opportunity to accompany the drivers on test drives.

A number of live demonstrations give automotive innovators an opportunity to present to guests new technologies and advances in automotive. The Stop Crash Zone will be showcasing the benefits of Autonomous Emergency Braking in a controlled environment.

Stephen Maitland-Oxley, London Motor Show events director, said: “We’re thrilled to have The London Motor Show in the capital. It’s a hugely exciting time for everyone in the automotive industry and there’s an exciting buzz amongst all the exhibitors.

“For visitors, there’s something for everyone; as well as admiring the latest cars and listening to inspiring guest speakers, there’s a huge range of activities available for children and the whole family to enjoy – making this a must-attend event for all.”

Tickets for the weekend event (6th – 8th of May) are still available and can be purchased from the London Motor Show website.
